Fields

Type
One primary type by priority: news agency > newspaper > online news > magazine > TV > radio > broadcaster. Secondary types are kept.
Country
P17 (country), falling back to P495 (country of origin). Shown as ISO 3166-1 alpha-2.
Languages
P407 language of work, ISO 639 code when available.
Influence
Count of Wikipedia language editions linking to the item — a rough proxy, not audience size.
Social
X / Twitter (P2002), Facebook (P2013), Instagram (P2003) usernames as stored in Wikidata.

Known limitations

  • When an item has several official websites one is picked arbitrarily; language-specific sites may appear instead of the main one.
  • "Active" only means no dissolution date on Wikidata; some historical outlets slip through.
  • The magazine class still contains a few non-news publications.
  • Coverage is uneven across countries and mirrors Wikipedia's own bias.
  • No journalists or contact details are included.
